Campaign: VW Snapshot

Driving Volkswagen social media presence forward.

Volkswagen is one of the biggest car brands in the world. They wanted to create a social campaign which raised awareness about the brand and connected with affluent consumers.  The campaign ran each summer in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

The Irish Instagram community were invited to submit photographs into categories such as  ‘Abstract’, ‘Roadtrip’, ‘Technology’ and ‘Volkswagen’. 

All entrants had to do was post their photograph, tag #VWSnapshot and the relevant category they were entering and their post could then be eligible for votes on  Each year the winning photo and 11 other top photos in the Volkswagen category are chosen to appear in the Volkswagen calendar, the proceeds of which go to the annual charity.

In order to promote #VWSnapshot we utilised social content, social advertising and influencer marketing.  This ensured we raised awareness about the competition and that the target audience participated through entering their photos and voting.

The #VWSnapshot campaign was a resounding success as Connector smashed all of its targets. The campaign received over 2,500 entries a year and delivered 25%+ account growth for the Volkswagen Ireland Instagram page.
