Connector along with Huawei Snapys and Igers Dublin, held Ireland’s first Virtual and real photo gallery in the heart of Dublin City.
After a successful photo competition on Instagram which received 3,821 entries in just 3 weeks, Connector along with Huawei Snapys and Igers Dublin, held Ireland’s first Virtual and real photo gallery in the heart of Dublin City.
We invited the Instagram community to share their ‘Streets of Dublin’ photos in an exciting online competition on Instagram and to get the chance to feature in our pop-up gallery event. We partnered with the top influencers to inspire Irish amateur photographers to showcase the beauty of the Streets of Dublin.
The competition was a great success with over 3,800 photos entered, over 160,000 likes on Instagram and 3,038,108 potential impressions. Once the competition was over, we brought The Huawei Snapys ‘Streets of Dublin’ photo gallery to life showcasing some of the best Dublin Street Photography.
The evening event inspired top Instagrammers, influencers and media to come out and see the unique pop-up gallery, enjoy some Jameson and O’Haras and do some real world social networking!
We displayed the top 15 finalists photographs in the gallery and created a Virtual Reality experience based on Google Cardboard using the Huawei P8 smartphone to showcase over 3,800 photographs entered into the competition. The VR headset presented a 360 degree virtual environment and allowed our guests to get immersed in all the beauty of Dublin Streets!
On the night, the top 3 photos were announced based on the public vote with each winning a prize from Huawei. Congratulations to our top 3 winners, Colm Corcoran who was the overall winner, Rachel Killeen who was second runner up and David Ramalho who was third runner up.
We’re planning to run more events like this in the coming weeks so keep posted for more details. We hope you can join us at our next event!
